Lone Star Drift – One Last Fun Day at Houston Police Academy?

Lone Star Drift is the defacto seat time drift series in Texas. They’ve thrown drift events for decades, leveled up countless drivers and fed plenty of them into the money bonfire that is Formula Drift. Numerous tracks, parking lots and airport runways have played host to the events over the years, but Houston’s Police Academy test track might just be getting retired (for now at least).

2025 Japanese Nostalgic Car Meet

I can’t believe I have never attended the Japanese Nostalgic Car Meet before. Hosted at the Moon Tower Inn nestled in Houston’s East End, the JNCM is a (usually) annual car meet that promises a display of classic Japanese vehicles, but in actuality seems to straight up attract the finest vehicles in town disregarding origin and age.

2025 Texas AE86 Matsuri (with IASDrift)

Alrighty, so I fumbled this one a bit. How? Many ways. Small fumble would be me falling back into my old habits of trying to drive and shoot at the same event. Every time I do this I end up hindering my personal learning behind the wheel as well as limiting my shooting window; serving two masters as they say. Second fumble would be trying out a new camera body fresh out the mail. I added a 5DMk4 to my weapon stash and I love it, just uhh, wish I noticed I wasn’t shooting with AI Servo for half the day. That sucked, sure, but the big fumble would be that I FORGOT to put an SD card in the other camera I brought with me. It being my old 5DMark3, the broken screen on the back gave me no clue that I was dry firing the entire day. Sounds catastrophic, but luckily we’re in for a rare treat: I had homies! With cameras! Who wanna share!

Coffee and Rice at Catalina (with CJ)

Catalina Coffee has been host to a Sunday morning Coffee and Cars type meet for as long as I can remember. As a nod to the demographic who generally attends, it’s affectionately redubbed as Coffee and Rice. I personally had never attended before, being that it requires one to wake up early on a weekend, but CJ is a regular attendee and when one of your brothers presents an opportunity to meet up you take it.

River City Drift: Remember CLTX 2025

I miss drifting! I shot the GGP event about 4 years back (geez we’ve been lazy) and none of us have attended anything else since. In the meanwhile I’ve been torturing myself with FOMO through a surprising amount of drifting podcasts (shout out Goodest Cast, Pile Up Podcast and After-Hours with Faction!). I had to get back out there in some capacity, and that’s when I found River City Drift. Not being from San Antonio, that name was new to me. But Club Loose Texas? I remember the Club Loose Texas. (That was supposed to be an Alamo joke, but it probably didn’t work and I’m sorry.)
