Coffee and Rice at Catalina (with CJ)

Catalina Coffee has been host to a Sunday morning Coffee and Cars type meet for as long as I can remember. As a nod to the demographic who generally attends, it’s affectionately redubbed as Coffee and Rice. I personally had never attended before, being that it requires one to wake up early on a weekend, but CJ is a regular attendee and when one of your brothers presents an opportunity to meet up you take it.

Looking back on our little blog you can see a pretty substantial gap where none of us have posted on here. Life kind of caught up with all of us. Work catches up. Health catches up. Responsibility catches up. Families catch up.

Actually, CJ is a whole ass dad now! I want to ask when we got so old, but time’s been staring us all in the face for a while now. Still, I haven’t forgotten memories from high school riding along in his 240sx, doing donuts in an intersection in the middle of the night. Or having to push start it moments later for whatever reasons the car needed as a child owned and maintained 90s sports car.

But beyond testing the Law’s statutes of limitations, I just had to take a moment to be a geezer and muse over good times. Never mind it though, the good times haven’t left yet. This is me saying see your friends y’all, even if just over a cup of coffee.

Coffee and Rice is held every Sunday morning at Catalina Coffee at 201 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007.
